Paul "Fitz" Fitzgerald Award
The Paul “Fitz” Fitzgerald Award is awarded to
a volunteer that demonstrates dedication to the GAO course rating program.
“Fitz” passed away in 2008 but his contributions to golf will always be remembered through this award. During
his time with the GAO, Paul:

• Served on the GAO Board of Directors.
• Captained a Course Rating Team
• Was involved in rating over 100 courses, training numerous others in the process.
• Received the GAO Distinguished Service Award in 2006.
“The Fitz Award” will be presented annually and is a recognition of what Paul meant to the
GAO.
The inaugural
recipient of the award is Ralph Franchino. Congratulations!
