Throughout the 70's, 80's and early 90's (confirm this time frame) Len Goldson and Went Daniel demonstrated what "giving back to the game" was all about. Both served the Ontario Golf Association in a range of capacities, including as Presidents of the Association (Len Goldson in 1970, Went Daniel in 1979). Perhaps their lasting legacy is the work they did related to the Rules of Golf - training others, Chairing the Rules of Golf Committee and supporting OGA Championships as Nationally Certified Officials.
The "Len and Went Award" is presented annually to individuals who have achieved National (Level 4) Certification in the Rules of Golf and is a fitting tribute to two individuals who meant so much to the game in Ontario.
