| Guelph, ON: After playing the first seven holes of the 36-hole final all square, Brad Larente turned it on over the next 25 holes to capture the Investors Group Ontario Junior Boys' Match Play Championship at The Cutten Club in Guelph by the score of 8 and 6. Brandon Christo played well, but couldn't keep up with the assault by Larente. During the morning round, Larente won holes eight, nine, 11, 12 and 16 and finished the first 18 holes five-up. Christo took the first hole in the afternoon, but Larente won the third, fifth, 10th and 12th to take the title in convincing style. Larente leaves Saturday for Vancouver, B. C. to compete in the Canadian Junior Boys' Championship at the Marine Drive Golf Club. |
