Going After a Golf Scholarship Seminars

 

As one of the many Member Services, the Golf Association of Ontario offers Seminars designed to assist Junior Boys & Girls, as well as their parents, understand all aspects of going after a Golf Scholarship.

 

Weekday evening:

 

Glen Abbey (Oakville) - Tues. Nov 22nd

 

Saturday mornings:

 

Fire Rock GC (London) - Dec 3rd

 

Cedar Brae (Toronto) - Jan 21st

 

Barrie CC - February 4th

 

Canadian Golf & CC (Ottawa) - February 25th

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? 

All Junior Boys, Girls & their parents who are interested in the opportunities associated with Golf Scholarships should be attending. This is a process that individuals need to be aware of and understand at least 2 years before they graduate from High School. 

 

SEMINAR TOPICS  

  • -The Importance of Academics.
  • -The Costs of Going to School in the US - How to Decide on the Right Program.
  • -Marketing – How to Tell the Coaches About You and Your Accomplishments.
  • -Playing Ability – How Good Do You Have to Be?
  • -The Recruiting Process, Use of Recruiters, and Doing it Yourself; NCAA Criteria.
  • -Use of the Internet

 

DURATION/COST:

All seminars run for approximately 2 1/2 hours. The cost is $50.00 per family, with net proceeds going to the GAO Junior Scholarship Fund. Registration fee includes various handouts, research information, and a Continental breakfast.
