Women's Provincial Training Program

 

The Ontario Women’s Training Program has been in existence since 1995 and is offered each spring to qualified applicants.  Notable players who have attended the Ontario Women’s Training Program in previous years include LPGA players Alena Sharp and Jessica Shepley and former national team members Karly Pinder and Lisa Maunu. The goal of the program is to improve the overall playing performance of competitive women golfers in Ontario – whether they play at the amateur, mid-amateur or senior level.  The program focuses on providing training in the following areas:

 

 

  • Fitness
  • Goal Setting
  • Rules of Golf
  • Short Game
  • Course Management
  • Practicing with a Purpose
  • Tournament Preparation
  • Mental Strategies
  • Equipment Analysis

 

 

 

To be eligible for this program, player must:

 

 

 

  • Be a member in good standing of the Golf Association of Ontario
  • Resident of Ontario
  • History of competitive golf, with priority given to competitive golfers in GAO championships
  • Committed to competitive golf for one year
  • Handicap Index of 12.0 or less
  • Priority will be given to those who have not previously participated in the program
  • Applicants must be age 18 or over
