Investors Group Junior Girls' Match Play Championship

Lapointe and Yoon Victorious at Ladies' Match Play Events

Toronto, ON:  The number one seeded Mary-Ann Lapointe, of the North Halton Golf and Country Club, cruised to victory at the 2004 Ladies' Match Play Championship. In the Junior Division, Christina Yoon of the Blue Springs Golf, completed her sweep of the GAO Junior Girls' events by winning the Junior Ladies' Match Play.

Lapointe, having garnered numerous titles and awards over the years, won the Ladies' Match Play in fine fashion with a convincing 5&3 victory over Evelyn Paik. In the Consolation Final, Jane Kirkpatrick had similar ease in defeating Jaclyn Sanders 5&4.

In the Junior Division Christina Yoon battled with Ashley Sholer, of the Chippewa Creek Golf Club, for 21 holes before finally disposing of her to claim the title. Yoon's victory capped off an incredible 2004 season as she also claimed the Investors Group Junior Tournament of Champions and the Investors Group Ontario Junior Ladies' Championship.

Playing on her home course, Sarah Grigor was unable to fend off Vanessa Leon, of the GAO Public Player Program, who won 2UP. The event was hosted by the Ladies' Golf Club of Toronto.
